Michael Feigin was born in Ekaterinburg, Russia in 1974. After studying Economics at Ural State Economic University and working as a translator for CARE international in 1991, he took the post of Reuters Business Manager for Eastern Russia in 1996, becoming Interfax General Director of CJSC Interfax-Ural in 2003. In 2008, he became CEO of the optician business Otchki dlya Vas (“Glasses for You”) started by his father. He is married to Julia Feigina and has two children – Daniil and Nika. He has collaborated with Thomas Beavitt on a number of verse translations projects including original translations of songs by Robert Burns and the verse translation of Rhyming Thomas & the Faery Queen.”
